DETROIT – The 2013 Buick Enclave luxury crossover arrives at dealerships soon, and already is garnering praise from some critics. The Texas Auto Writers Association named Enclave the “Crossover Utility Vehicle of Texas” after testing the industry’s newest models.

In what the organization called “an enormously competitive category,” Enclave came out ahead of Audi, Infiniti, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and other competitors.

Buick and GMC combined for three individual crossover category wins. Enclave won “Full-size Luxury Crossover,” the 2013 GMC Acadia won “Full-size Crossover” and the 2013 GMC Terrain won “Mid-size Crossover.”

“These latest awards for Enclave, Acadia and Terrain come from one of the nation’s largest and most-important vehicle markets,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick and GMC Marketing. “Texas drivers are also some of the most demanding – especially when it comes to utility vehicles – so this is high praise.”

Enclave and Acadia are the first two of nine new Buick and GMC models being introduced in the next nine months. The 2013 Terrain launched earlier this year with a new optional 301-horsepower, 3.6L V-6 and a new Denali trim level.
